Aleyda Arana Aguilar, a fifth-year Spanish and Chicanx studies major,  is originally from Calexico, California, a border town in Southern California. She joined the MESA UC Davis team in October 2021; motivated by its focus aiding under-resourced communities to obtain opportunities in the STEM fields. She enjoys reading books, watching movies and exploring new foods and places in her free time. She loves conversing about coffee shops and different cultural customs in the community.
